These were so fun to make.

This is one of the projects that occupied a lot of my time this spring. A very old friend of mine (we first met in 2nd grade) got married, and she asked me to make some mushroom sculptures to decorate the cupcake table at the reception. (She had the most adorable forest themed decorations, all the rest of which she made herself!)

I ended up making thirty-odd mushrooms of varying sizes, and painted them in batches of yellow, blue-gray, brown, and classic amanita red. I thought I had a better picture, but this is the best of the lot I took before I sent them to her. (I wanted to make sure she had a chance to veto them before I packed them up!). She gave me about half of them back, and they're currently in the rotation of household ornaments.
